To install the SSL Web Server Certificate in RavenSSL follow the instructions below:
a. Fetch your certificate
1.You will receive an email when your certificate is issued. 2.Go to your Status page: https://www.thawte.com/cgi/server/status.exe 3.Enter your Order number and password 4.Select the 'Standard certificate' format option to download your issued certificate. 5.Copy and Paste your thawte certificate (first certificate) to a text editor (Notepad) and save the file with a .txt extension.
b. Install the certificate
1. Rename and save the .txt file as a .cert file in a temporary location in your server.
Include the lines -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE---- and -----END CERTIFICATE-----
2. Start the Raven PKI Certificate Manager, using the command: /usr/local/raven/bin/ravenctl
3. Choose Install Signed Certificate.
4. Identify the temporary location and name of your web server certificate. The certificate will be installed in the directory: /usr/local/raven/module/pki/certs
5. Choose Install Signed Certificate using the Raven PKI Certificate Manager.
6. Define the location and name of the certificate. The certificate will be installed in the directory: /usr/local/raven/module/pki/certs
7. Edit Apache's HTTPDS.CONF file to point the Raven SSL module to the new certificate and key. SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/raven/module/pki/certs/mycertificate.cert SSLCertificateKeyFile /usr/local/raven/module/pki/keys/mykey.key
8. Save the HTTPDS.CONF file
9. Stop the Server: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpsdctl stop
10. Start the Server: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpsdctl startssl
11. Test your certificate by connecting to your server. Use the https protocol directive (e.g. https://your server/) to indicate you wish to use secure HTTP.
